How to Maintain your Smoke Alarm Installation
Every Smoke alarm installation is unique to the building it monitors and needs regular testing to ensure it will work when needed. Every month a short test function should be carried out by either using the remote test/hush button or a short push on the centre button on the alarm head. All alarms should sound for 10 seconds, (please do not interfere with the test function.)
Dust and moisture can effect the photoelectric alarm operation and may cause false alarms.
Position these alarms away from shower and washroom area, garage and kitchens.
Choose heat alarms to monitor garage, kitchens and possible dusty area’s.
Maintain the integrity of the devices by cleaning blowing air through the sensor (Every 12 months.)
Position alarms to come into contact with the free flow of air through the building eg near bedroom doorways Not in corners and away from air conditioning outlets.
Wifi Base Station Photoelectric Smoke Alarms
How to install the wifi base.
Information you will need.
Wifi name and password
your email address and access to your emails
Step 1
Download the TUYA app from the app store and register a email address
Step 2
Open up the app after registration and look for add device.
Add manually screen appears.
Choose sensors on the screen on the left and scroll down to find Smoke detector Wifi.
Click on it
A page appears requesting a wifi network and the password to connect to
Please note that the Wifi network is on the 2.4Ghz system.
Press the black button on the external of the Wifi base for 5~10 seconds until the red light
starts flashing rapidly.
Follow the prompts on the TUYA app
Done.
Setting up the alarms with a Remote Handset
Remote handset
Press and hold the Test button for 5~10 seconds until the red light flashes 3 times, release button the red light will start flashing rapidly (Master mode).
Connect alarm to handset by pressing the button on the centre of the alarm
for 1 beep release button.
Do the same thing for each alarm.
Done.
Please note that the handset has to be in master mode to connect. (Red light flashing fast.)
Test alarms by pressing test button once after Master mode Is complete.
How to interconnect smoke alarms without remote handset.
Turn on all alarms to be connected, create a master out of one of the alarms by holding down the centre button for two beeps (red light flashing fast).
Connect the next alarm by holding down the centre button for one beep, complete all the alarms.
How to connect the remote handset to the alarms.
How to connect remote handset.
Press and hold centre button on the alarm for 2 beeps and then release.(red light flashing fast).
On the handset press and hold test button for 2 flashes, release ( red light remains on )
Wait a few seconds and then short press centre button on the alarm the red light on the alarm stops flashing done.
Short press on the test button on the handset to test the alarms.
Reset the alarms
How to factory reset the alarms.
To factory reset an alarm, hold the test button on the alarm until the green light flashes four times, then release. After you release, the green light will flash slowly three times to indicate it has been reset successfully.
Reset the Remote Handset
To factory reset the Handset press and hold the test button until the red light flashes four times, then release. After you release, the red light will flash slowly three times to indicate it has been reset successfully.
